Barkell Ltd is a private company founded in 1981 and owned by the present directors. Production capacity at the present time is in excess of £500,000 per month, and facilities are readily expandable in the short term. Barkell owns a three acre site on a prestigious industrial estate in Consett. There is currently 30,000 sq. feet of manufacturing space, with a ready expansion area of a further 30,000 sq. feet. There is also a recently completed office and engineering block of 4,500 sq. feet We presently have a workforce of approximately ninety employees with Technical Sales Engineers and Agents throughout the United Kingdom. The skilled work force has many years of experience in manufacturing Air Handling Units and related products. The Company employs computer technology in all departments to assist in the administration, estimating, design and manufacture of the product. Barkell operate a full quality assurance system based on the requirements of ISO9001 (BS 5750 Part 1).
